We hear you

By Hongli Lai on August 2nd, 2012

We’ve received a lot of feedback about Phusion Passenger Enterprise since yesterday’s launch. In particular, we’ve received a lot of questions regarding licensing. Our licensing model is currently per-server, but there are use cases that this model does not fit well into.

We’ve heard your feedback, and we’re discussing them internally. In the near future we hope to come up with an updated licensing model that will allow us to better accomodate the following:

  • Development and staging environments
  • Volume discounts
  • Cloud setups where the server count varies often
  • Educational and non-profit organizations

One user also reported a problem with not being able to check “I agree” on the licensing page. This problem has been solved!

Does the current licensing model already work for you? Please buy Phusion Passenger Enterprise here if you haven’t already. Want to be notified when we’ve published new licensing models? Enter your email address below and we’ll keep you up to date.

There has to be some issues with your markup because your posts are breaking the layout of http://planetrubyonrails.com/,

cheers and keep up the good work,

Does the startup license allow indefinite use if only for non-corporate use? Would be nice to have some of the enterprise features that later versions of the open source edition won’t have but for personal servers.

Something along the lines of a per single server personal license @ $49 ?
